Most Depressing Starbucks in America Closing For a Remodel

Critics of the non-hyperbolically-nicknamed "most depressing Starbucks in America" can rejoice: the coffee shop near Figueroa and York in Highland Park has temporarily closed so that Starbucks can do some big-time remodeling and try, try again to make the homely coffee hut something less visually offensive, reports the Eastsider LA. Haters of the Starbucks, unveiled late last summer, skewered the weird outdoor area, the "awkward space planning," and the overall ugliness of the whole thing, and called it "a tragic pastiche of design approaches." Burn.
