With more than 40,000 active listings on Airbnb, Paris is the number one home-sharing destination on the site, reports the Guardian. The second most popular city is New York, which trails behind with 34,000 listings, and the third is London, which has 23,000.
Eager to take this relationship to the next level, Airbnb is hosting its annual event, Airbnb Open, in Paris this year. It's the first time the gathering will be held outside of San Francisco—where the company's main office is located—which has a mere 5,000 hosts on the site.
First Deputy Mayor of Paris, Bruno Julliard has publicly shown support for the site, and stated he was "delighted" Airbnb's annual event would be held there.
