All Your Favorite Teenage Bedrooms from Movies in One Place

New, 1 comment

The teenage bedroom is a hallowed space, full of angst and early attempts at self-definition. LA-based writer and editor Luke Goodsell has gained quite the following on Tumblr collecting and displaying thousands of stills of on-screen teenage bedrooms, mainly from high school movies. It's kind of a big deal, and you should absolutely follow it now, but first, a few highlights.

Sugar and Spice, 2001 - Diane Weston (head cheerleader) is pregnant with the star quarterback's baby and needs money, so Diane and her four cheerleader friends plot a bank robbery in a very pink bedroom.

Bring It On, 2000 - Torrance dances on her bed after Missy's brother Cliff gives her a tape where he sings and shreds about how much he likes her. Great bedrooms, the both of them.

Aquamarine, 2006 - Hailey and Claire (best friends) watch as the mermaid (Aquamarine) they found in a swimming pool jumps on a bed for the first time. Note the nautical decor theme.

All I Wanna Do, 1998 - Miss Godard's Preparatory School for Girls has uniforms that just aren't cool, or at least, not nearly as cool as those drapes.

Rock 'n' Roll High School, 1979 - Riff Randell is the biggest Ramones fan in school.

Confessions of A Teenage Drama Queen, 2004 - Lola Cep is convinced she's going to be a famous Broadway star. On her wall is pictured Stu Wolff, of the band "Sidarther," who is, in Lola's words, "a greater poet than Shakespeare."

Ghost World, 2001 - Enid and Rebecca are in a morbid, pattern-heavy phase of teenage life, facing summer post-graduation.

The Brady Bunch Movie, 1995 - Marcia, her trophies, and her perfect pink room.

She's the Man, 2006 - Viola loves soccer and Marilyn Manson.

Jawbreaker, 1999 - Julie, just a popular girl who loves blue and orange.

While we're on the subject, pretty much every scene in this Vivian Girls video for "Take It As It Comes" also fits the bill.
