Mt. Ashland, a community ski area in Oregon, is hoping that a spring storm this weekend may bring enough high-elevation snow to allow the shuttered resort to open. Like several ski areas in California and Washington, Mt. Ashland has been closed for the past week after warm temperatures and rain destroyed the mountain's base. A reopening would certainly help the ski area, especially with the potential for spring break crowds the following week. [Mail Tribune]
