With $11 billion of maintenance piling up and a core group of visitors that isn't getting any younger, the National Park Service, which celebrates 100 years in 2016, is launching an outreach campaign to court a new, younger, and more diverse crowd. An advertising campaign, including corporate sponsors and celebrities such as Bill Nye, will attempt to get people to connect with the parks, and fourth graders and their families will get free access to national parks during the next school year.
