Closing Day Watch

New, 1 comment

April snow might be too little too late to save the 2014-2015 ski season, but ski areas in the Sierra Nevada are hoping its enough to lure skiers back to the hill. Resorts like Mammoth Mountain and Squaw Valley were in desperate need of snow due to an epic four-year drought that has plagued California. Both ski areas received around 20 inches of snow and while Mammoth hasn't announced a closing date, Squaw now plans to stay open until April 19 -- and longer if more snow falls. [LA Times]
