34 Places Where April is the Snowiest Month of the Year

New, 6 comments

It's the ski world's biggest irony: in November everyone races to the hill to ski sub-par snow on short, "white ribbons of death," while in April the slopes are deserted and the snowpack is at its best. Need proof? Brian Brettschneider (aka @Climatologist49) created two maps that show 34 weather stations where April is the snowiest month of the year. The map also tracks which month is the snowiest month of the year around the country. For many locales in the Rocky Mountains, March and April top the list.

Even though many ski areas have already closed, some are still going strong. So get out there and enjoy the April snow!
