Berkeley Festival Will Destroy a Bunch of Books to Show How Much It Loves Them

In a plan that seems to be going over pretty well, all things considered, the Bay Area Book Festival is going to use the 50,000 books that were donated by the Internet Archive to build a physical library. The process, which will involve tearing out pages to be strung along ceiling wires, is described by the project's organizers as "a space in which visitors literally, and figuratively, inhabit the interiority of books and their contents," which definitely sounds like a real thing. We'd go even a step further and try to explore the way that books can transfer energy from one being to another, by burning them.
