American sculptor Richard Serra has been keeping busy. Photographs have surfaced of the renowned artist's latest work, an ethereal installation in the Qatari desert. Dubbed "East-West/West-East," the work comprises four towering, rolled-steel monoliths, commissioned by a local sheikh and former high-ranking official (naturally). It's actually not Serra's first foray in the region: His first project, a heptagonal sculpture aptly named "7," was erected in Qatar's capital city of Doha in 2011 and, at 80 feet tall, is his highest.
