A recent article in the Denver Post documents just how big Quentin Tarantino and Samuel L. Jackson's blockbuster film, the "Hateful Eight", has been for Telluride. Colorado beat out Utah and Wyoming in the fight to host Tarantino's eighth feature film after the state approved a $5 million incentive to bring the $44 million film to Southwest Colorado. Throughout the winter the 177-person cast and crew filmed about 10 miles west of Telluride- even hosting their own ski burn- booking 9,000 room nights during production and helping catapult Telluride to its best winter ever.
