Designed by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson Architecture—the firm that brought the world the distinct, sleek look of Apple stores—in collaboration with Shelton Mindel & Associates, this very contemporary Aspen, Colorado, home is a serious step up from the kitschy log cabins and timber lodges ski country has become synonymous with.

Built for a Connecticut-based couple working in finance and philanthropy (as such couples are wont to do), the two-story aerie is clad in Valser quartzite from the very quarry in Vals, Switzerland, made famous by architect Peter Zumthor and used at his renowned spa and resort Therme Vals. Architectural Digest has the rest of the story and more glorious photos.
