There might only be six ski areas open in North America at the moment, but fans of Mammoth Mountain will be thrilled to know that the snow gods are finally shining down on the California ski area. After receiving 18 inches from a May 8-9 storm that cancelled Mammoth's original closing date of May 10, it now looks like the industry juggernaut will have the lifts spinning through Memorial Day. The resort picked up 5 inches of snow this morning and there's more in the weekend forecast. Better late than never?
