Would you expect anything less than this picture of midcentury perfection in the nation's capital of twee? We didn't think so. Set in a rather leafy part of Portlandia, this low-slung one-story brick-and-concrete house was built in 1966 by local architect Robert Rummer and later revamped so that its timber-beamed ceilings and polished concrete floors have the gleam of care well-taken without losing their charm. Encompassing a not-micro-but-manageable 1,412 square feet, the pad should be just right for the nostalgic among you.
