Haven't heard of California architecture studio Walker Workshop? This very handsome 8,000-square-foot house in Beverly Hills should put the firm on your radar. Dubbed the Oak Pass Main House, the two-story concrete dwelling turns the typical residential layout on its head: Public spaces occupy the glazed upper level while private quarters are tucked into the hillside, under a green roof planted with edibles and herbs. Despite its size, the house was built to integrate thoughtfully with its site, which encompasses about 100 Coast Live Oak trees.
