Add this to the list of structures called "treehouses" that do not, in fact, find themselves in possession of a tree. The work of architecture firm Forestgreen Creations, this three-story home outside Ontario is actually not bad looking, despite the deception laid out in its name. A cantilevered carport is the dominating design move at the stucco- and steel-clad dwelling, which the architects say is named for the old-growth forest that surrounds the house. Sans a tree, a number of sustainable design features give the house its green cred, among them a rainwater-collecting cistern and geothermal heating system.
