Though undeniably down on its luck, Detroit is attracting new residents from some of the country's more traditional creative hubs for, among other reasons, its relatively inexpensive housing, some of which is quite lovely. Listed this week, an imposing but lovely tudor in the Joseph Berry Subdivision embodies much of what makes Detroit real estate so great. The six-bedroom, 5,200-square-foot house obviously hasn't seen much updating over the years. The listing calls it a "great renovation opportunity," so it'll likely require more than a weekend of cleaning and tearing out musty carpet. But definitely banish the carpet immediately. Wood floors are probably lurking underneath.
