Developer to Reconsider Plans for Kimball Art Center Building

After much public scrutiny, the new owners of the Kimball Art Center property in Park City have withdrawn their request to change city zoning rules to allow a bigger building. According to the Park Record, LCC Properties Group, who just recently closed on their purchase of the downtown building, informed the Park City Council that they are no longer asking to increase the allowed building height from three stories to four stories. The announcement comes after the Planning Commission denied their recommendation to the City Council and there was plenty of public criticism on changing the height restrictions. The Kimball Art Center building has been Main Street's most controversial redevelopment project in years.
