One of New York's Tiniest Museums Now Has an Even Tinier Second Location

Mmuseumm, located inside a former freight elevator in Tribeca, is one of the more unique museums in New York City (and, in all likelihood, anywhere). And now it has an even more unique, and tiny, location—in a four-foot-by-five-foot storefront window next door. Mmuseumm 2, which opened on Saturday, is a recreation of the West Village closet of Maira Kalman, mother of Mmuseumm operator Alex Kalman. Kalman "initially worried that it would appear overly personal — for Mmuseumm, quirky is O.K.; sentimental is not. But eventually he decided that the closet represented a universal need to create order," explains the Times.
