Earlier this week, the International Olympic Committee approved four new events to be included in the 2018 Winter Olympics. According to the Associated Press, athletes will now compete in Big Air snowboarding, mass start speed skating, mixed doubles in curling, and a team skiing event. The IOC dropped the snowboard parallel slalom as an event. The Pyeongchang, South Korea Winter Olympics are scheduled to begin in February 2018.
