Nantucket's Gorgeous 'Blue Victorian' Mansion Asks $5.3M

New, 4 comments

A historic house with a connection to Joseph Starbuck, Nantucket's first real estate high roller, has hit the market and, well, it's rather lovely.

Built in 1873 for the whaling merchant's daughter, the Elizabeth Starbuck Barney House last sold in February 2012 for $2,750,000 (see the previous listing photos here) and has since been returned to its glory. The 4BR, 4.5BA known as the "Blue Victorian" is now tricked-out in a very renovated in 2014 pricey sort of way. "This sophisticated home was lovingly redecorated, modernizing it with the finest custom finishes and stunning interior furnishings by acclaimed Nantucket designer, Audrey Sterk, while preserving its original features." Asking price for one of the island's most iconic residences is $5,295,000.
