When you're literally within the Arctic Circle, warmth couldn't be more important. Designed by The Scarcity and Creativity Studio within the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, this wooden sauna and terrace stretches over the rocky shore of a man-made bay. The project—titled "The Bands"—is named for the three wooden strips that create pathways, tables, and ramps as they rise and fall, culminating in the sauna itself: a 160-square-foot shelter with a heating stove, traditional all-wood interior, and stunning arctic views.
