Let these Amazing Architectural Playhouses Transport You Back to Childhood

New, 5 comments

From a Mondrian-inspired playhouse to wildly expensive princess houses, play architecture is ripe for creativity and extravagance. Such is the case once again with these 12 new bespoke playhouses, designed and crafted by teams of architects and builders. Completed as part of the biennial Dreams Happen fundraiser for Rebuilding Together Peninsula, a San Francisco Bay Area non-profit dedicated to rehabilitating homes and facilities for low-income communities in the area, the distinct finished results will be auctioned off at a gala this Saturday. Frank Gehry's firm, for example, created Tours en l'Air (↑), which definitely has a bit of his signature "crumpled paper" look (though the compact pink structure also quite resembles an adorable baby bird.)
