Portland Woman Wins Bidding War on House by Offering Free Pizza for Life

A woman in Portland, Oregon who happens to own an Italian restaurant won a bidding war on a house by offering the sellers one free pizza every month, for life. (She also offered them two months of free rent, which likely didn't hurt.) The Post frames this story as evidence of how competitive the real estate market has gotten, but it seems to be equally about how people don't seem to know what pizza is worth. One medium pizza from the buyer's place, DeNicola's Italian Restaurant, costs $19, which comes out to $228 worth of pizza a year. The home sold for $275,000, or 14,473 pizzas, not including tip.
