How do you connect an apartment to a tree-filled garden? With tree-sized glass doors. These titanic glass doors stand approximately three stories tall, reaching a height of almost 20 feet. Special pivots—as opposed to your average hinges—support the doors' 4.4-ton weight. These behemoths – 'the world's largest pivoting window' – link the garden to an open-plan kitchen and dining area, also part of the renovation. The architects, Sculp-It Architecten, who have a penchant for superlatives, have also built the Netherlands' narrowest house and the world's largest floating swimming pool.
