A 14-Year-Old Designed This Oak Bluffs House in 1930

New, 1 comment

Back in 1930, 14-year-old Ed Abbe designed a house overlooking Farm Pond in Oak Bluffs. The philanthropic Renaissance man died this April after reaching "his goal of making it to 100" and now, the classic "gem of a home in Harthaven" is available for those with a couple million dollars to spare.

The five-bedroom main house retains plenty of original detail, but was renovated in 1988 and, per the listing, "it is time again for updates." As for the one-bedroom guest house, it was converted in 2001 and "is a timeless style that will be enjoyed by extended family for generations to come." In addition to the pond panorama, the 1.4 acre property has views of Nantucket Sound. Asking price for the sweet spread is $2,150,000.
