Restored SF Eichler with Awesome 'Mini-Eichler' Cabana Lists for $695K

New, 1 comment

Out in one of Concord's Eichler enclaves, a well-kept specimen with many of its midcentury details intact has landed on the market asking $695K. Built in 1963 in the Rancho del Diablo neighborhood, the four-bed, two-bath, 1,795-square-foot house has an open central atrium, mahogany-paneled walls, and a pool out back complete with an original cabana the brokerbabble dubs a "mini-Eichler." The galley kitchen is closer to its original state than the usual (and often misguided) contemporary attempts at an update, though those electric burners don't look like much fun to contend with. The vinyl tile is "newer," the brokerbabble assures us, and the radiant heating works. There's also some sweet built-in shelving that doesn't often survive remodel attempts, along with the de rigueur globe lights and some nostalgia-stoking peach shower tile. Even the front-door buzzer is original and, reassuringly, in working order.

Curbed SF has all the glorious photos. >>
