Repairs Start on Steamboat Springs's Howelsen Hill

After a spring landslide moved one of the towers of Howelsen Hill's Barrows Chairlift, construction crews have started repairs on the iconic Steamboat Springs ski area. A firm called GeoStabilization International has been hired to use a technique called soil nailing around the lift towers to secure them. The city estimated that the work on the towers would cost $267,000 to complete.
