Mt. Bachelor in Oregon is looking for approval from the Deschutes National Forest for five small projects that would improve the ski area for next season. The ski area, which is located west of Bend, wants to widen a few trails, grade three new stretches of runs and terrain park, and install a small log storage building for avalanche explosives. And while these projects are small, Mt. Bachelor's 2013 master development plan includes a new east side lift and trail complex. At the moment, the ski area's owner, Powdr Corporation, doesn't have any specific dates for when those larger improvements might happen.
