Eastern Switzerland Is Getting a Brand New Ski Area

Construction has begun on a new ski development in eastern Switzerland. The project will offer 120 kilometers of new ski runs and connect the village of Andermatt in canton Uri with Sedrun across the Oberalp pass in Graubünden. While only the first link between Andermatt and Sedrun will be open this winter, the whole resort should be operating by 2020. One of the principle investors of the ski area, which will cost CHF 200 million to build, is the Egyptian entrepreneur Samih Sawiris. Read more, over here.
