Renzo Piano Will Teach You How to Build a Sandcastle

There isn't all that much summer left (let's not think about it) and if you've been heading out to the beach every weekend but you still can't get your sandcastles right, don't worry—world renown architect Renzo Piano is here to help. In a piece in The Guardian, Piano writes that "making sandcastles was my training in fantasy," and lays out his four-step process for building one. The advice ranges from the philosophical ("A sandcastle's relationship to water is more important than its appearance.") to the practical ("You don't need the ditch to be more than 30cm deep and 45cm wide, and the castle should be about 60cm tall.")
