The work of local firm Hennebery Eddy Architects, the Ash+Ash Residence is a real head-turner, a low-lying, two-story contemporary house made of glass and white brick. Perhaps even more impressively, it's been built to LEED Platinum specifications, incorporating smart, eco-conscious systems like a geo-exchange heat pump system, a 10-kilowatt rooftop solar array, and an on-site storm water disposal system. The house also makes use of passive sustainable systems, like under-floor radiant heating, and efficiently designed indoor-outdoor spaces that allow for passive cooling the warmer summer months.
