A ski town's local airport is often its lifeline. Fortunately for Crested Butte, Colorado, a new direct flight between Los Angeles International Airport and the Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport will bring new blood to one of Colorado's most picturesque destinations. The new flight is serviced by Alaska Airlines and will run two flights per week, scheduled for Wednesdays and Saturdays from December 16, 2015 through March 26, 2016. Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) targeted the LA flight because "Nationally, Los Angeles is the number one domestic market for destination skiers and snowboarders," says Scott Clarkson, vice president of sales and marketing for CBMR. Special fares are currently available starting at $119 one-way, and CBMR is offering up to 30 percent off lodging booked before August 15. For flight schedules and fares, head over here.
