Killington Resort's new base village may be tied up in legal challenges, but that's not stopping the Vermont ski area from moving forward on new on-mountain attractions. Like other ski areas who are building new summer amenities, Killington is hoping its new $2 million 4,800 foot long Beast Mountain Coaster will draw summer visitors to the resort. The new coaster consists of 18 "smart carts" that run individually down the mountain between 25 and 30 miles an hour. It's set to open in early August.
