Seattle's Up House Saved at the Last Moment

New, 1 comment

Although it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Seattle's Edith Macefield House, which wasn't the actual inspiration for the house from Up (according to Pixar) but might as well have been, was going to be demolished. But now, at the eleventh hour, the house has been donated to a nonprofit, which will reportedly move it to an as-of-yet undisclosed location. Obviously, a huge part of what made the house house so famous and beloved was its location (in the middle of a huge development that Macefield refused to yield to) but at least it will still exist somewhere.
