Huge Unit in Chicago's Mies-Designed Tower Asks $2M

Here's a rare opportunity to own a ginormous unit in the famous 860-880 Lake Shore Drive Apartments development designed by the master of modernismMies van der Rohe. Coming in at a whopping 3,400 square feet, the two bedroom, two bathroom condo is actually a combination of multiple units to create one huge open space that features some truly spectacular Lake Michigan views. It's also got some really nice updates as well, including some lovely walnut paneled walls and a new kitchen that definitely fits in with Mies' "less is more" aesthetic approach. While it's certainly nice to look at, the $1.995 million price tag with $4,458 in monthly assessments kind of kills the buzz. The listing agent mentions that the owners "are transferred and heartbroken," and indeed, it would be tough to have to part with such a home.
