Jackson Contemporary Stunner is a Shining Beacon on a Hill

New, 2 comments

That's not a figure of speech. This 8,600 square-foot home occupying a 5-acre hilltop in Jackson has so many windows that it's basically a sieve of light. On the market for almost $5.5 million, this six-bedroom, seven-bath contemporary home steps up and into the hillside across multiple levels, decks and outdoor spaces. It manages to blend fairly well into the landscape despite looking almost like an Art Deco medical facility with its mix of glass block, curves, white surfaces and metal.

Crossing a bridge takes you to a front door set in glass block surrounded by windows, a theme that repeats with the fireplace once you get inside. Few walls are without at least one polygon-shaped window. With an open design and so much glass, privacy seems to be more a function of the setting than the house.

A dining nook is wrapped in glass, with a spiral staircase running up through the cylindrical structure. The master suite looks through a wall of windows onto its own deck. The home's multiple large decks and outdoor spaces are all linked through the house. The acoustics built into the theater room also caught our eye, but that teal couch might be original from the home's 1994 construction.
