This Domed Bookshelf Is Actually Pretty Cool

New, 1 comment

We expend a good bit of energy around here complaining about people who do design-y things with books and/or make bookshelves that are pretty but not actually good for book storage. So, it's only right that when a bookshelf comes along that's design-y and good, we acknowledge it.

This domed bookshelf in the Conarte Library in Monterrey, Mexico is good.

Is it the most efficient way to store books. No, it is not. But it's not entirely inefficient, and its attractive, and innovative, and the books aren't stored in such a way that will damage them over time, and you can remove one of the books without all the other books falling out, and at least the books in these renderings aren't around solely by color. So, good job, this bookshelf.
