New lifties at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe will now be making $11 per hour this upcoming season thanks to an increase in the resort's starting pay. That's about a third better than the $8.25 an hour required by Nevada's minimum wage. The change goes into effect Sept. 1 and will affect nearly everyone working for the resort, according to Powder. This bump also puts Mt. Rose above Vail Resorts' new $10 per hour starting wage, which also goes into effect this season.
