When The Design Files, the trusty chronicler of delightful Australian homes, decides to feature an American abode, you know it has to be extra special. Behold the utterly dreamy loft of PieterJan Mattan, the Belgian-born design entrepreneur who left the fallen Fab.com to co-found new design sales site Bezar (and photographer of some incredible Burning Man photos.) Located in a 200-year-old former umbrella factory in TriBeCa, the apartment is surrounded by tall windows that showers the place—filled with intriguing artworks, indoor plants, and sizable teepee—with irresistible sunlight.
