See What the Basilica Will Look Like During Pope Francis' Visit

In preparation of Pope Francis' visit to Washington, D.C. on September 22, here's a sneak peek of what the Basilicia of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception will look like when he holds Mass at the church. WTOP news anchor and reporter John Aaron tweeted a picture of the above rendering, which is also currently on display on a poster board on the site. The Mass will be hosted at 4:15 p.m. on the east portico of the church. According to WUSA9, the Pope will canonize the 18th-century Franciscan Junipero Serra, declaring the friar a saint.
