Janulus, a Minnesota-based company, launched a Kickstarter yesterday for its new product, a portable wind turbine called Trinity. As of today, it has already surpassed its $50,000 goal and is still climbing, currently up above $64,000. The turbines rely on the same types of batteries used in electric cars, and the smallest one weighs 1.4 pounds, meaning that if you had one of these things you could disappear into the wilderness for days and still keep your phone charged. Getting service might be a different story, though, but still.
