Lacking Financing, Saddleback Ski Area Could be Sold

Maine's Saddleback Ski Area has spent a good part of the summer trying to come up with the $3 million it needs to purchase a new chairlift, but last week, the resort posted on Facebook that it had exhausted all possible avenues of financing. Instead, according to the post, there were some parties interested in buying Saddleback. It sounds like the Berry family, which owns the ski area, is in the middle of negotiations with some of the parties, but four scenarios were laid out for how the sale and future operation might turn out.
