This Proposed Observation Deck Would Involve Building a Salvador Dali Painting Into a Cliff

This proposal from architectural firm Fly Architecture is only one of the entries in Rethinking Architecture's contest to find a design for an observation deck atop Norway's Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), but let's just consider it a strong contender. The design is based on Salvador Dali's famous "The Persistence of Memory" and would resemble a giant melting eye, which would have to be carved out of the cliff and constructed with aluminum and glass. The glass would also have a special coating that would allow it to double as a screen, displaying region facts, weather forecasts, and more.
