We may be freezing up here in the northeastern corner of the United States, but Down Under summer is well under way. This gorgeous vacation home in Victoria, Australia, by native Australian architect Adrian Bonomi has an open floor plan and, perfectly for this time of year, a host of indoor-outdoor spaces that allow for entertaining and relaxing. Clad in timber and plywood, with accents of stone and recycled brick, the house has an oversized veranda that provides shade and passive cooling. (A "passive solar envelope" also helps keep the interiors cool.) Speaking of the interiors, they are gorgeous and sleek: Light-hued wood flooring, streamlined in-wall storage off the kitchen and dining room, and broad sliding doors and clerestory windows that let light in make the whole affair seem airy and bright.
