The Colorado Department of Transportation saw record-setting holiday traffic during New Year's weekend, but traffic on the notorious mountain highway was reduced due to the new express toll lane. On Sunday, January 3, nearly 54,000 vehicles traveled through the Eisenhower Tunnel, which made it the highest volume day in the history of the mountain passage.
