More than five million tourists visit the Grand Canyon every year, under the pretense that it is a very big canyon. But everything is relative, and now researchers from Durham University have discovered another canyon that is more than twice as long (and, to be fair, a little less than half as deep). Great! you're surely thinking right now, I'll take the family to this hip, new canyon on our summer vacation and we won't even have to go to Arizona at all! Not so fast—the new canyon is located in Antarctica and also concealed under ice. In short, it is terrible at being a tourist destination, which is the one thing that canyons are supposed to be good for. This canyon can go take a hike.
