Los Angeles's oldest continuously operating inn, Barclay Hotel, is likely to continue its run in the hospitality business, but perhaps as a much fancier place. The building at Fourth Street and Main is for sale, reports the LA Business Journal, and the broker who's listed it is pretty convinced that the 1897 Beaux-Arts building is primed to be a much trendier hotel—something along the lines of "a boutique hotel similar to the Ace [Hotel]," he says, referring to the super-cool hotel on Broadway. He's also expecting the six-story building on the line between Skid Row and the Historic Core to sell for more than $40 million.
