Not only does the 'Eco Mushroom,' an LED streetlight from designer Tony Thomas Narikulam, run on solar power, it also houses an Air Purification System that sucks in CO2 released by passing vehicles and filters it into clean air, using a method inspired by fungi (hence the name). The design has yet to be implemented, but its creators claim that it could make a big difference in areas effected by car pollution.
