Jackson Hole is no longer a rough-and-tumble ski town with kickass skiing no one knows about. In an editorial published in the Planet Jackson Hole on December 29, Jake Nichols writes that 2015 was different. Jackson, Wyoming saw a record-breaking number of visitors, increased traffic, and a worsening of the already dire housing situation. To figure out whether summer 2015 was a "tipping point" and where Jackson is headed now, Nichols looks at just where the ski town stands at the beginning of this new year. He asks, "Will unchecked growth, climate change transform the valley into a place we don't recognize?"
