A group of farmers in Chongming county in China constructed these three giant straw crabs in order to make a point about the wasteful practice of burning paddy straw after harvest season, which contributes to air pollution. The farmers/crabs call on other farmers to find ways to reuse or recycle the straw, such as, just off the top of our head, building giant straw crabs. Or...um...
